Jefferson County Aging and Disability Resource Center is offering a free fall prevention workshop, Stepping On Program, in Lake Mills at the Rock Lake Activity Center Wednesdays from November 6 to December 18. This seven week class will teach you how to prevent falls at home or away. If you are noticing your balance isn’t as good as it used to be, this class will help you learn ways to help.
In seven weekly, two hour sessions, the Step-in On Program gives participants strategies for avoiding falls including balance and strength exercises, home safety check suggestions, medication review and more. Guest experts including a physical therapist, a pharmacist and others will visit over the seven sessions. This workshop is designed for people aged 60 or older who have fallen or have a fear of falling.
